JCPS Adult Education

The Louisville Equestrian Center has partnered with JCPS to offer these special opportunities. Through the Lifelong Learning Program adult JCPS students can take English and Western Horsemanship courses for Beginner or Intermediate riders at the Louisville Equestrian Center. No experience is necessary to sign up for Beginner Horsemanship Classes. You can’t live in the Bluegrass state and never experience its trademark industry and past time.

The Lifelong Learning Program provides its students with an opportunity to spend some up-close and personal time with a horse that they won’t be able to find anywhere else. LEC’s knowledgeable staff work individually with students to teach them not only how to work with a horse while mounted, but also how to manage and care for them on the ground. Our courses are extremely hands-on. Starting on the first time they set foot in the barn, LEC works with students to acquaint them with the behavioral communication used by horses as well as a host of other skills and knowledge needed to work with these amazing animals. Educational lectures allow lots of time for questions and hands-on practice with the horses. Classes cover topics like communication, feeding, bathing, diseases, equipment, and, of course, riding. For more information or to register for classes, check out the Lifelong Learning Program’s website.
